Common App官網(wǎng)最近公布了2018-2019年美國(guó)大學(xué)本科申請(qǐng)essay題目，和2017-2018年的相同。

　　2018-2019年CA文書題目：

　　1. Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.

　　2. The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?

　　3. Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome?

　　4. Describe a problem you've solved or a problem you'd like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma - anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution.

　　5. Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.

　　6. Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?

　　7. Share an essay on any topic of your choice. It can be one you've already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design.

　　1、文書塑造特點(diǎn)不清，造成招生官選擇困難

　　我們需要知道，當(dāng)高校招生官在招生的時(shí)候，想的是：We are creating a class.翻譯成中文就是“選拔一支隊(duì)伍”，西方團(tuán)隊(duì)里的每個(gè)成員一般要滿足兩個(gè)特點(diǎn)：

　　a.每個(gè)成員都有自己的特點(diǎn)，在團(tuán)隊(duì)里的功能、位置都不一樣;

　　b.具有不可替代性。

　　滿足這兩點(diǎn)，你才能成為西方人心目一位理想的團(tuán)隊(duì)成員。中國(guó)學(xué)生呈現(xiàn)出來(lái)的樣子是：分都很高，看上去挺完美的，要公益有公益，要考試分?jǐn)?shù)有考試分?jǐn)?shù)，但最大的問(wèn)題就是沒(méi)有特點(diǎn)。

　　總結(jié)：你可以是怪物，但不能沒(méi)特點(diǎn)。

　　2、素材薄弱，使得自己的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力不足

　　你熱愛(ài)環(huán)保，還有一群熱愛(ài)環(huán)保的人和你競(jìng)爭(zhēng)，如果你要證明你是蜘蛛俠里最蜘蛛俠的，這時(shí)候就要突出素材的強(qiáng)度和高度。這就決定了你是否能出挑，從而斬獲offer。文書數(shù)量和質(zhì)量決定了你的高度。

　　新的Common Application更重視思想，明確以思想為核心，這樣的趨勢(shì)隨處可見(jiàn)。芝加哥大學(xué)以思想性文書出名，斯坦福、普林斯頓、哥倫比亞也是這樣，MIT從1篇變成4、5篇文書，UC從2篇變成4篇，文書比重加大，思想性增強(qiáng)。思想富足要在經(jīng)濟(jì)富足三代以上才能建立，所以在中國(guó)這個(gè)環(huán)境下長(zhǎng)大的學(xué)生在回答這種問(wèn)題時(shí)確有劣勢(shì)。
